VANCOUVER, BC, October 17, 2011 — Layer 7 Technologies, a leading provider of Gateways for service-oriented integration, Cloud connectivity and Web-to-mobile information sharing, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2011 Magic Quadrant for SOA Governance Technologies.

According to the Magic Quadrant, “As service-oriented architecture becomes mainstream and takes on different names, the importance of SOA governance and the technologies related to it keep increasing. The market for SOA governance technologies keeps changing, driven by more comprehensive requirements from end users.”

SOA Governance is about allowing organizations to govern their interactions with business partners and services provided via the Cloud. Layer 7 enables Fortune 500 companies and governments to govern integrations across departments, partners, mobile applications and Cloud services.

“This Magic Quadrant evaluates a broad range of SOA Governance technologies available for simplifying control and lifecycle of application services across the extended enterprise,” said Dimitri Sirota, co-founder and Vice President of Marketing for Layer 7 Technologies. “Being named to the Leaders Quadrant as a pure-play vendor of SOA Gateways, API management or Cloud integration is an honor and, we believe, a reflection of our commitment to lead the evolution of SOA Governance to emerging integration areas underpinned by SOA, such as mobile and Cloud.”

The requirements for inclusion in this year’s iteration of the Integrated SOA Governance Technologies are more stringent than in previous years. Layer 7 was included under the updated guidelines, which require vendors to offer wider, more mature service lifecycle features, meet minimum revenue in the market and execute a Cloud strategy.
