 – The Best in KLAS Awards were announced earlier this week, with Symantec, VMware, and Imprivata being named to the top slots of various data security solutions categories.

KLAS took data from 2,500 interviews it conducts with providers and payers each month, according to a company statement. Healthcare professionals and clinicians from more than 4,500 hospitals and 2,500 clinics rated healthcare IT and services companies.

Symantec received a score of 85.1 for data loss prevention, with Digital Guardian DLP coming in second with a score of 81.7.

VMware took the top rating for Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) with an 84.0 ranking for its AirWatch Mobile Device Management. IBM’s MaaS360 Mobile Device Management was the next highest with a score of 80.5.

KLAS also reviewed single sign-on solutions, with HealthCast (92.7), Imprivata OneSign Single Sign-On (91.3), and Imprivata Caradigm Single Sign-On (81.4) being the highest rated. Imprivata’s Caradigm saw an 8 percent increase in its ranking from 2016, while both HealthCast and Imprivata’s OneSign trended upward by 1 percent.

“Best in KLAS is more than a ranking,” KLAS Research President Adam Gale said in a statement. “It is a recognition of vendors committed to delivering superior solutions. It gives voice to thousands of providers and payers who are demanding better performance, usability and interoperability in healthcare technology.”

Telmediq (94.0), PatientSafe Solutions PatientTouch Communications (91.4), Doc Halo (88.3), Imprivata Cortext (87.8), and Vocera Collaboration Suite (87.4) were the top rated secure communications platforms.

Patient privacy monitoring solutions were also reviewed, with Iatric Systems Security Audit Manager receiving a score of 91.0 and FairWarning Privacy Breach Detection coming in second with 84.3. Iatric increased in its rating by 1 percent from 2016, while FairWarning’s decreased by 4 percent.

KLAS reported that the top three cybersecurity advisory services were Clearwater Compliance (95.5), CynergisTek (92.5), and Deloitte Consulting (92.2). Clearwater Compliance improved by 4 percent from last year, while Deloitte moved up by 1 percent. CynergisTek dropped by 1 percent from the 2016 report.

In the overall KLAS rankings, Epic was named the top Overall Software Suite for the eighth consecutive year. Epic also earned the top Overall Physician Practice Vendor ranking.

Optimum was named the top Overall IT Services Firm for the second year in a row, while GE Healthcare Universal Viewer was the most improved software product. GE moved up by 35 percent compared to the 2016 report.

NextGen Healthcare NextGen HER also improved by 10 percentage points, which helped earn it the most improved physician practice product for the second year in a row.
